PAFCOE Batch 16 Explores Adventist Community's
Rich History and Mission
On March 5, in an effort to deepen their understanding of Adventist history and mission, PAFCOE Batch 16 embarked on an enlightening Institutional Tour, visiting significant institutions within the Adventist community. From exploring the legacy of Ellen G. White to gaining insights into media ministry and administrative aspects of the church, the tour was a journey of discovery and inspiration.
The first stop on the tour was the Ellen G. White Estate at AIIAS, where trainees delved into the life and legacy of one of the pioneers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They had the opportunity to explore unique artifacts and documents that shed light on Adventist history and mission, further igniting their passion for the cause.
Next, the trainees visited the Hope Channel ministry at AIIAS, where they learned about the important role of media in spreading the Adventist message to the world. They gained valuable insights into the vision behind Hope Channel and its impact on the global Adventist community, inspiring them to explore new ways of reaching people with the Gospel message
The tour continued with a visit to the Southern Asia Pacific Division office, where trainees learned about the administrative structure of the Adventist Church and its global outreach efforts. They gained a deeper appreciation for the strategic planning and collaboration required to further the mission of the church in this region.
Moreover, PAFCOE was privileged to also visit the Adventist Heritage Center where Pr. Bryan Tolentino gave the profound lecture of Adventist history, tracing back the roots of Adventism from the until to our time today. Also, he showed more Adventist archives that proved the faithfulness of God in guiding His people.
Finally, the tour concluded with a visit to Adventist World Radio, where trainees learned about the unique role of radio in spreading the Adventist message, especially in remote or difficult-to-reach areas. They were inspired by the stories of how Adventist World Radio has impacted listeners around the world, reaffirming their commitment to the mission of the church. It was fun meeting their volunteers from different parts of the world. At the same time, it is a blessing to realize that God is using various ministries to reach diversities of people.
Overall, the Institutional Tour was a resounding success, deepening the trainees’ understanding and passion for the Adventist mission. As they return to their respective roles within the Adventist community, they carry with them a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to make a difference in the world.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to explore the rich history and mission of the Adventist Church through this Institutional Tour,” said one of the trainees. “It has been an eye-opening and inspiring experience that has strengthened our commitment to serving the Lord and spreading His message of love and hope.”
As PAFCOE Batch 16 continues their journey, they are excited to apply the knowledge and insights gained from the tour to further the work of the Adventist Church and make a positive impact in their communities. |
