In Acts 1:8, Jesus bestows a remarkable promise upon His disciples, and this promise extends to each one of us today. He assures us of the gift of divine power through the Holy Spirit. This power is not ordinary; it is the strength we require to fulfill our purpose as His witnesses.
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” -Acts 1:8
This mission is not confined to a single location or a specific group of people. It commences in our own “Jerusalem,” representing our immediate surroundings—our homes, workplaces, and communities. Yet, it does not end there. We are called to reach out to “Judaea, Samaria, and even the uttermost parts of the earth.” Our mission is global, encompassing every corner of the world.
As believers, we have encountered the transformative power of Jesus Christ in our lives. We have witnessed His boundless love, grace, and mercy. Therefore, we are witnesses to His goodness, and it is our duty and privilege to share this testimony with the world. |
