Taking the Chance | Sharp Sickles 3Q 2025
What are you doing with the talents and skills God has given you? Talents are often squandered on temporal matters that do not last for eternity. You may have invested yours in your business, your family, or your profession. But if given the chance, would you be willing to use them in service to God?
The parable of the talents showed three men who received talents. One of them just buried it in the ground. But it should not be so. “God bestows talents upon men, not that these talents may lie unused or be employed in self-gratification, but that they may be used to bless others. God grants men the gift of time for the purpose of promoting His glory. When this time is used in selfish pleasure, the hours thus spent are lost for all eternity.” {ML 115.2}
Grace is one more chance, a chance to do what is right. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” As you read these pages, may you be inspired to take that chance: to live godly and serve God.
